6 week holidays were invented by teachers, who now that they have given your children back, can climb in to their 5 year old Citroen Picassos and drive to a campsite in central France and wash their hands of the whole thing. This is the day when I can sit back and smile smugly at all those parents who have said to me ‘It’s different when they’re your own.’ or ‘You don’t know what you’re missing.’ Today is the day when I can look at their frazzled worried expressions and say ‘ if that’s what I’m missing...then I’m really quite glad’.
waterpark!!! Isn't that half the country right now lol
he he this is when I am glad to be working, but my kids sleep most of the morning then either on pc or ps2 otherwise watching the box (teenaged boys for you).
Lol ATM - I think you'll find I said "childless middle class tosspots". You of course are exempt on the latter word. Plus, call yourselves middle class...?!!? ;-)
Should be sorted now Cat.
For only 40 weeks a year!! Seriously though, I so could not do that. Well not without seriously harming most of them!
Working today Vi. Glad you had nice weather for it, though still too cold for me to indulge in all that cold water. Brrr.
I was glad to be working today Lady, though my teenage isn't really a problem now. Just the other one, lol.
I am sure I would feel exactly the same way - if I could escape from them for long enough :-)
The story of just another ordinary day in the ordinary life of the ordinary girl.... Honest!

You can guarantee it wasn't a mum! I love my kids, really I do, but this is day one and my head is already screaming for space!

OG, trying to mail you re other blog ; wildcatblog@hotmail.co.uk
"Oh dear. You think it's bad having two kids on you hands all day. Try having thirty." Well, that's the usual response from us (ex)teachers.
Alfie's remark - teachers, it's your job choice! (I guess it's the same with us parents!)
Yes, trying to do entertain them for bleeding 6 weeks! I'm off to the waterpark in your area today if you are about (and if it's open!)

Whilst I lolled at this blog, I'm glad because the Summer holidays mean I get the chance to see my girls more often than usual.
There's always a flipside.
