Fuck it!

I've made the decision. I'm going to Vegas! Even if it bankrupts me! Well, it shouldn't do that, but it will probably put paid to any chance I have of buying a house this year, which is a bleeder but hey ho. I probably won't get the chance of a fun non-children trip like this again for a long time, and definitely not once I become a slave to an extortionate mortgage!

I reckon I should be able to rustle up about £500 for spending money (maybe more if I'm really really sensible until then), which may not be much but I've been checking out Vegas.com which has a lot of information on free shows, cheap food etc, so I'm going to bite the bullet and just go for it. At the end of the day, I'll be happy to lay in the sunshine and do nothing but read if I have to, so will just have to cut my cloth accordingly.

So that's it! Decision made. All I've got to do now is plan my itinerary... :-)

congrats!!! Unless you have a gambling problem, you shouldn't need to spend that much in Vegas. There is actually a lot of cheap/free stuff to attract folk in to game.

And YAY!! with the home PC thing - that was fucken ages!!

Thanks Joie, thats good to hear. I might be taking that much but would prefer not to have to spend it if I don't need to. And to be honest, gambling isn't really an attraction for me so that shouldn't be a problem!

Get blokes to buy you beers! That should cover most of the costs?

Will try Wayne, though checked him out and he sounds a bit risky! It would be just my luck to be singled out by him!

Fri 4th May, Vi. Come back on the 12th.

That's my plan Goro!

Lol, you make me sound like an alchy Middy!!

Yippee kiy yeh mother f****er...

Brilliant am glad - £500 spending will be plenty.... We've been saving for 3 months and we'll have the equivalent of about £200 - we may get to £300 with help of credit card. We have decided we'll need to get bread/cheese to make sandwiches for lunch - but hey who cares we'll be eating them in Vegas!Of course as a "homey" staying in our "crib" you're welcome to one of our sarnies...

Mr ATM says please ensure you do not find responsible child care as he wants to read about you in News of the World or something e.g. woman abandons kids whilst on Vegas rampage.. and then be able to tell new "friends" he knows you.. yep he still very sad..

Well done. A very wise decision if not the "sensible" one. No-one can foreclose on your memories.

Viva Las Vegas, OG!!!

Way to go!

A customer of mine went to Vegas awhile ago and his one tip is to cruise places that have multiple bars. Drinks can alter in prices in a casino by as much as half. Probably the same with food. Funny he didn't mention the food. Hm.

Have fun!

Considering the exchange rate is almost 2 to 1 (1pound = almost $2), 500 is plenty in my opinion. I guess if you're going to be there longer than a few days, it's the right amount. Most of the drinks are free if you're gambling, so you can save some cash that way too.

I second wayne's suggestion to see the Amazing Jonathan~loads of laughs.

Hehe, I guess I should've read a bit more before replying. So you're staying a whole week, hmmm.

If the hotel's and travel arrangements have already been paid for, then I think you should be able to stretch the 500 out the whole week.

I'm sure you'll have a blast out there!

Lol Wayne. I will bear that in mind :-)

I will try my best Andrew! (Though don't hold your breath for any exciting adventures - I think this is the OG Year of the Celibate!)

Yes indeedy ATM. The deed is done! Sarnies may well be required to stop me wasting away. After all, you know there's not much meat on me to keep me alive!! Hey, there's an idea. Perhaps I could fast for a week and come back a stone lighter and with all my money! Hurrah!
Lol, tell Mr ATM that I had planned to leave them under a hedge somewhere, but as he would enjoy it so much am now engaging very responsible childcare. Could however arrange a dirty gangland gang bang of Mr ATM for newspaper coverage, if he so required :-)
PS. VERY disappointed B not coming!! Would have liked the opportunity to maybe get him drunk and embarrass him...!

Thanks Alfie. I'm happy now I've made it. Money can wait!

Lol Jaded. Funny indeed! I'm not adverse to eating nothing but free bar snacks for a week if necessary. Viva Las Vegas indeed!

Cheers Tobi. Will be there 8 nights actually, but all travel and accommodation paid for beforehand. Not going to worry about the money, it will just have to do! After all, I can't spend what I don't have!
