Birthday time

It's my birthday!

After a late night with the girlies round,  I'm currently I'm lying in bed writing this on my Kindle Fire (little birthday present to myself, ahem), before getting up and heading off to London with X to see the sights.

Yay for birthday weekends!

A change is as good as a rest?

Well, after fighting the battle of increasing public sector cuts for the last few years, it appears the sword has fallen!  I learned today that the service I have managed for the last 6 years will be closed early next year!  Quite what happens job wise for me is currently uncertain, but what is definite is that are challenging, but interesting times ahead!

Itchy feet!

I have come back from my recent travels, with nothing but further travels on my mind!!  Fortunately for me, in unfortunate times, my Mum has left a small inheritance which will be enough to clear my bills, freeing up a significant amount of monthly income, and have some left over for holidays!  So, holidays are being planned, and more than that, booked!

So far, I have booked...

- London with X for 2 nights in London Town, including a show, for my birthday at the beginning of December.

- Edinburgh with X and Y (unless he's got a bloody job by then!!), and my sister and bro-in-law for 4 nights over New Year, for Hogmanay celebrations.

- Iceland with my friend CJ for 3 nights in February, to see the Northern Lights (hopefully!).

- Good old Butlins in Skegness with X, along with friends Bridey and accompanying kids, and new mother Disco,with (by then) 6mth old Disco Junior, for the May bank holiday week.

- Back to Scotland again for the August bank holiday week, with X, and maybe Y.

Other plans for the year include something for the October half term (I was hoping for Orlando, but pennies may not stretch!), and hopefully, Lapland for Christmas!

Next year, I'm hoping to do a month long round the world (currently, London, Miami, LA, (maybe Vancouver), Auckland, Christchurch (to see the fabulous ATM - not that she knows it yet!), Singapore, Dubai, London) over the Christmas/New Year period.  Finances for that are yet to be sorted!   Plus, a week or two in the year just to keep the itch away.

Hopefully, that should keep me occupied for a bit :-)

Nibble

Seems to have struck a slightly interesting nibble on the world wide web of internet dating! Early days but we shall see how it goes... It passes a few dull hours if nothing else, lol.

Home time!

Boo, rubbish! Time to go home! Have had a very busy few days around San Francisco, from Segwaying (yay, I love a Segway!) around Golden Gate Park, to strolling along Haight Street, to meandering along Fisherman's Wharf, to shopping in Union Square and our fabulous apartment in the heart of Chinatown, to name but a few! Back to reality today though, and the long journey home. Fortunately I have an evening of Julian Clary and a baby shower to get me through the remaining few days before back to work on Monday! The jet lag awaits!

More flying

Well, after a fabulous week in fabulous Vegas (aside from the 2 days of rain! In the bloody desert!!!), it is back on the plane! This time to San Francisco to see the sights!

Just realised that in 7 short weeks I shall be heading into Las Vegas, and in 8 weeks, into San Francisco! I am very excited!!!!!

I should just explain... I'm not visiting her at Buckingham Palace, but have a personal invitation to a posh event at Burghley House - how fabulous!

Toe dipping

The combination of a couple of days of having a sicky tummy, so being off work and consequently bored rigid, seems to have resulted in me joining an online dating agency once again! It's been 6 years since I last paid for the priviledge (and we'll try not to think about how that turned out!!). So, let the trolling commence...!

I am so, so fucked off with work right now! If it wasn't for the fact that I have utmost respect, liking and loyalty to the team, I'd be wailing 'work-related stress' and getting a free pass out of their for a few months!

After months of not knowing what was happening in the new financial year, the service finally got the go ahead about a month ago, and the great news was that the big wigs were not only positive about continuation, but also willing to go with promotion and expansion. So, since then I've been mad pushing ahead, emailing every other relevant service to say we are going to be here and are going strong, wheeling and dealing to get clients in and services expanded, and finally feeling like I'm going somewhere.

Just as I'm told this week that actually there is no money and we're likely to close in 3 months tops! I'm so fucked off I cant tell you! Plus, its not absolutely decided what is going to happen, so I don't want to share it with the team until I know, and that's really difficult. It's all just shit!

It continues

Popped out to see JB tonight for a couple of hours whilst X was at youth club. He wasn't in the best of places as it was the anniversary of his son's death today, although he was relatively chipper, at least on the outside. We had the usual flirty chit chat, and the usual references to being together, blah blah blah, but I'm in a place now that whilst it's nice, I'm not stressing or getting frustrated. What will be will be is my current philosophy. He is about to move into his own place, and seems to think that will be a definite moving on from the negativity of the last few years, so who knows. Watch this space I guess, although I wouldn't suggest anybody holding their breath...!

Things not to say to your GP

This morning I had the excitement of visiting my local GP to arrange for my coil to be removed and replaced with a new one. All good, chit chat, appointments organised, blah blah. Hours later I still have no idea what made me say, upon leaving the consulting room...

I do not know what is up with me at the moment!! I have been carrying some low level horniness around for a while, but thats nothing new, and it comes and goes, but I woke up this morning as horny as anything, with some very fresh images in mind, and after a bit of awake/asleep/awake-ness, I "dealt with the issue" had a post orgasm nap and then was up and in the bath at 10am. All a good start to a lazy Sunday I am sure you are thinking...

I just woke myself up from afternoon dozing watching the tv with the realisation I was dry humping the sofa!!

I've had a lovely day, the usual run of bowling club in the morning, then drama club in the afternoon (for X of course, not me!), but then she has unexpectedly gone to her dad's and after a weekend of business and socialising last weekend, I have had a lovely afternoon reading a great book and generally enjoying the sofa and my pyjamas!

However, its amazing how just a little thing can change all that. I am now, inexplicably (well I know why, but I equally know it's something I shouldn't give a shit about!) pissed off! If I had the opportunity to get drunk and laid I most certainly would.

And I still haven't sorted out mobile blogging properly. Stupid bloody blogger!!

Late nights

I love the nights when you go out and, somewhat unexpectedly, end up not getting home until 4am in the morning!

In fact, I love getting home at 4am! There is something eminently satisfying about going to bed just about when you know other people are starting to be getting up!

. . .For getting back to regular blogging! I'm currently trying to set up blogging from my phone in a vain attempt to pick up the pace! Fingers crossed i can sort it. . . Not that there is a huge deal of exciting things to report, lol. In fact, quite the opposite! It's fair to say i'm currently in need of a shag :-)

Have just Facebooked DM, just to make sure he knows I'll be visiting San Francisco in October, and just to make sure he knows that I haven't (and won't be!) suggesting meeting up with him!

I may still miss him - there may be days when he is still in my head, and posting stupid pictures of his fucking wife and dog may still right royally fuck me off - but I know there is no point in seeing him. If I hadn't already learnt it, then August finally brought that home.

He is gone. I am surviving. It is what it is!

Vegas Baby - revisited!

Woohooo!!!! October 2012 brings the return of Vegas baby, with the fabulous Mr and Mrs ATM/JTRC (I can't remember which is which now, lol!). A week in Vegas followed by 4 days in San Francisco - so I can see it properly this time!
